Do you think getting the really high C above the staff on a trumpet is good for a middle schooler?

We were playing a song called Prelude, but I was the only one who could hit the high C above the staff so were not playing it anymore. Now we are playing Steppes of Russia and Salvation is Created. Has anyone played or heard any of these pieces. Oh and Prelude is a college level piece.
