The guy I like likes my best friend?

So I have liked this guy for a while because he is very nice and gentlemanly, and kind of cute. Anyway, the first time we hung out we also hung out with my best friend Sammy. She is very pretty and nice and cool, but she also already has a boyfriend and the guy I like (Matt) knows that. So now whenever I see Matt I feel like he just connects with Sammy instead of me. Also, behind my back sammy makes plans to go to football games with him, and go to movies. AND on top of that, she went and asked him for a PIGGY BACK RIDE at lunch. While I was there. Anyway now it seems like he just is becoming closer to her than me. Is there any way I can fix that, or any way to get over it? Or is there any way to get Matt to like me more?
