You're mistaken. Girls DO fart, but it smells like flowers. So, the girls w/the best smelling farts reproduced. Ever wonder why some girls smell really good when they walk by? Yeah, they just farted. It works to our advantage b/c it's appealing for a girl to fart in public, but not a male.
